$78 for this cake… and someone still said, “I wouldn’t pay that much for a pie.” 😳
Sarah from Lancaster, Pennsylvania said she ordered this custom cake for her mom’s birthday picnic, and the baker told her it took almost 6 hours to finish all the lattice frosting, ruffles, and little ribbon details.
She was so excited when she picked it up because it looked handmade, soft, and old-fashioned in the cutest way.
But when she brought it outside to show the family, one cousin looked at it and said, “That’s cute, but $78? It looks like a pie with frosting.”
And honestly… that would’ve ruined my mood a little.
Because at that point, you’re not just paying for cake. You’re paying for time, detail, skill, and someone making something special for one day you’ll remember.
Some people think $78 is too much for a cake.
Others think custom handmade work should be respected.
