Founder and leader of the International God’s Way Church, Daniel Obinim, has sparked widespread discussion after making a series of emotional revelations about his marriage to gospel singer Florence Obinim, his living arrangements, funeral wishes and alleged death threats.
Speaking during a church service, Obinim disclosed plans to live separately from his wife, explaining that he has acquired a new home in Trassaco where he intends to spend most of his time while occasionally visiting his family. According to him, he purchased the property for $400,000 and plans to relocate there with his children because of the challenges he is facing in his marriage.
The preacher also became emotional as he addressed his congregation, alleging that some members of a group known as Team Legal Wives have threatened his life following his public comments about his wife and certain individuals he believes are negatively influencing her. He maintained that his remarks were made out of concern and not hatred.
In one of the most striking moments of his address, Obinim made a public declaration concerning his funeral arrangements. He stated: “Let this June 4, 2026, video be on record. When I die, only my biological children and the Abroso Family should bury me. I have excluded my family, including my wife, Florence Obinim. Do you know how marriage is? Never place your expectations on marriage.”
He further declared that no member of the Obinim family should interfere with his funeral arrangements, saying they may attend but should not be involved in decision making. According to him, only his biological children and the Abroso Family should determine funeral dates and make all necessary arrangements.
Obinim went on to state that if he dies before his wife, she should not play any role in organizing his funeral. “The day I die, no member of the Obinim family should come close to my funeral. Don’t come and fight over dates. You may attend, but don’t come and do what you like. The only people who can fix my funeral dates and make arrangements are my biological family and the Abroso Family,” he said.
The latest remarks come amid growing public attention surrounding his marriage after previous comments about funeral arrangements, family matters and concerns over his wife’s circle of friends generated widespread debate across social media platforms.
