Nolita’s cult-favorite recently made their way to the Upper East Side — and their new prix fixe lunch might be the neighborhood’s best deal 🫓. A small starter, a salad or main and 1 soft drink ( including homemade lemonade or iced tea ) for $29 dollars.

My ranking, hottest take first:

🥇 The Shoo Shoo Schnitzel — sesame-crust chicken schnitzel. I’m not even a chicken person and this completely won me over. Turn the volume UP for the crunch 🔊
🥈 Baba ganoush + warm, pillowy pitas — get this as your starter
🥉 Homemade mint lemonade — crafted to perfection

Pro tip: save some of the baba ganoush and put some of the schnitzel inside the pita with it and throw some fries if you get that as well! Sounds weird, but it works!

What’s it like to visit Newport Mansions from The Gilded Age? As gorgeous as you’d hope. However, during a W**e & Food Festival is even better. This is one of the most Googled W**e & Food Festivals in New England and now I understand why. The Newport Mansions W**e & Food Festival runs for three days with expert-led w**e seminars, grand tastings, multi-course dinners , chef-paired brunches and more . Rosecliff mansion ,which hosted the festival, was in 1902 for silver heiress Theresa Fair Oelrichs and designed by architect Stanford White. It’s modeled after the Grand Trianon at Versailles and it shows! It has the famous heart-shaped staircase, the largest ballroom in Newport, and it was the filming location for the 1974 Great Gatsby with Robert Redford. Scenes from True Lies, Amistad, and 27 Dresses were filmed here too.

If you’re planning a trip to Newport, Rhode Island, this is one of the best things to do — w**e tasting inside a mansion is an experience you won’t regret. The 22nd annual festival returns September 2027 and tickets sell out, so mark your calendar.
