A small but delightful story from the history of micropalaeontology 🎄
In the early 20th century, Arthur Earland and Edward Heron-Allen exchanged Christmas microscope slides made from foraminifera. Their 1912 “Xmas” slide, just about 1 cm across, is a reminder that careful science has always left room for creativity and personal connection.
