📰 Big News: India has passed the Promotion & Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025,
which bans real-money online games — including fantasy sports, rummy, poker, and other cash-based games.

✅The law comes into effect from 1 October 2025.
✅It sets up a new Online Gaming Authority to regulate games, distinguish which ones are “money games,” and enforce strict penalties.
✅Meanwhile, the BCCI (Indian cricket board) has banned crypto and online gaming firms (like Dream11) from applying for lead sponsorship rights.
What do you think about this?
Personally, I think it’s a bold but necessary move — the government seems serious about tackling addiction, fraud, and financial risk.
At the same time, shutting down real-money gaming could push people toward unregulated or offshore platforms, which might make things more dangerous.
🔥 Question for discussion:
Do you believe this ban will actually protect people, or will it drive the gambling activity underground?
