Bring back the 90s/2000s Tim Walker, fantasy set design era of magazine editorials (and those budgets while we're at it)!!

Designer Gergei Erdei’s taste is poetic, theatrical, and quite formal—but never predictable. In this Taste of My Taste, he shares the high-low purchases, vintage sources, coconut-milk coffee order, and creative references that shape his world.

Full breakdown of Gergei's taste on our Substack. Link in bio.

Brian's cheat sheet to a is here:

Favorite white paint → Benjamin Moore 'Super White' It has the least amount of pigment and therefore captures all the changing color of an atmosphere within 24 hrs of a day.
Favorite moody paint → Not a paint but the color Black.
Painter → Haven't found a painter that we love, unfortunately...
Best stone yards → Bas Stone
Stone Obsession → Arabescato or any Italian stone that reminds me of old Italy.
Furniture fabricator → Andrin in Brooklyn
Favorite Contemporary Designer → Céleste Boursier-Mougenot, whose work is currently on view at Park Avenue Armory.
General contractor → We recently completed a project in Jackson Hole, Wyoming with Jesse Roy at Couloir Construction and they were incredible.
Dream project → I love to do projects in Los Angeles and Jackson where my family is because I love being with them. So any project in these two cities would be amazing.

— before I was a design professional™️ I remember buying my first home + feeling totally overwhelmed by how to approach the design journey. I would have *died* to work with an interior designer or architect but put every dollar I had into my down payment! I stalked some of my fave designers to see what I could learn from them but I didn’t find much... now as a designer, I know why us designers get some damn protective over great vendors (hint: they are hard to find!) but this series is for everyone out there who is just trying to MAKE IT HAPPEN I FEEL YOU. 🫡
