Smothered Turkey Wings Recipe🔥🔥
Ingredients
• 4 turkey wings, separated at the joints
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• Salt and pepper to taste
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1 teaspoon onion powder
• 1 teaspoon paprika
• 1 teaspoon dried thyme
• 1 large onion, sliced
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 bell pepper, sliced (optional)
• 2 cups chicken broth
• 1 cup water
• 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Season the turkey wings: In a large bowl, mix the turkey wings with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and dried thyme. Make sure the wings are evenly coated with the seasoning.
3. Sear the wings: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the turkey wings on both sides. This should take about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove the wings and set them aside.
4. Prepare the vegetables: In the same skillet, add the sliced onions, minced garlic, and bell pepper (if using). Cook until the onions are translucent, about 5 minutes.
5. Make the gravy: Sprinkle the flour over the cooked vegetables and stir well to combine. Cook for about 2 minutes, then gradually add the chicken broth and water, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it thicken, about 5 minutes.
6. Combine and bake: Place the turkey wings in a baking dish and pour the gravy and vegetable mixture over them. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
7. Bake: Cook in the preheated oven for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the turkey wings are tender and the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F (74°C).
8. Serve: Remove the turkey wings from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy them with your favorite side dishes,
