a while back, my dad found out what i do for work. i never planned on telling him. not because i was embarrassed, but because i already knew how it would end. when he finally brought it up, he didn’t yell. he just said he was disappointed. said he couldn’t stay in my life if i kept going down this road. i tried to explain that nothing about me had changed. that i’m still his daughter. still the same person, just figuring things out on my own. he didn’t want to listen. now i’m back behind the wheel, miles rolling by, alone with my thoughts. i didn’t think the silence would hurt this much. it’s hard realizing someone who raised you can walk away so quickly just because they don’t understand your choices. i’m doing my best to live honestly and take care of myself, even if it costs me someone i never thought i’d lose 😭
