Peace Today… But At What Cost?
Today, Trump hosted Rwanda & DRC leaders in Washington for the Washington Accords, a big peace deal. 🙏

Yes, peace matters. Yes, lives matter. ✅
But… why did this have to happen outside Africa? 🌍
Why do African nations still rely on Western leaders to solve African problems? 🤔

Where is the African Union when it counts?
We want peace, but we also want African nations to lead their own solutions. 💪

Africa deserves independence, leadership, and power to solve its own problems, on its own soil. ✊

NOCAL Shares Update on Reported Oil Seep in Grand Bassa — Calls for Calm and Facts Over Rumors

The National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) has released an important update about the reported hydrocarbon seep in Nevren Tan, Beon Town, Grand Bassa County. The seep is located within the Roberts–Bassa Basin, roughly 7.6 miles away from the coastline.

A hydrocarbon is a natural substance made of hydrogen and carbon. These are the basic building blocks of oil and natural gas. When hydrocarbons leak out of the ground on their own, it can be an early sign that oil or gas may be present deep beneath the earth. This is what people mean by a “hydrocarbon seep.”

NOCAL reports that their technical team has already visited the site twice. During these trips, scientists examined the area, studied the soil and rocks, and collected samples to help them understand what is happening underground.

This region has shown signs of possible oil before. In 2010, Simba Energy carried out surveys that also pointed to potential hydrocarbon activity in the Roberts–Bassa Basin. NOCAL says the latest observations appear to line up with these older findings.

Working closely with experts from the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LPRC), NOCAL’s specialists spent two days doing soil sampling, reviewing past studies, and mapping the geology of the location. Their early assessment suggests that the seep sits in an area that has the right structures for hydrocarbons to collect.

The samples taken from the site are now being tested in the laboratory. These tests will show the type of fluid present, whether it is actually oil, what quality it is, and where it may have come from underground. NOCAL says they will release final results only after all scientific analyses are completed.

Because many Liberians are eager for updates, NOCAL is urging government officials, journalists, community leaders, and the public not to share unconfirmed information. They emphasize that spreading rumors or early assumptions can harm the integrity of the investigation.

NOCAL assures the nation that they remain committed to transparency and will provide a full, accurate update once the final results are ready.

Let’s Look at This Fargo Story From Another Angle
Everyone online is busy labeling the young woman who ended up in another woman’s home as “fearless.” But honestly, that might not be fair or even accurate.

Think about it: she may have walked into that situation with a completely different understanding of what was going on. If Amos painted a picture of a broken home, a separated couple, or a marriage that had already ended, she would have had no reason to suspect she was stepping into drama.

Most women would never knowingly lie down in someone else’s marital space. That’s not confidence that’s trouble waiting to happen. So chances are, she wasn’t being bold… she was operating off information that wasn’t true.

Sometimes the loudest part of the story isn’t the real one. And sometimes the person people call “brave” is actually the one who was kept in the dark the most.

“I've received quite a few inquiries, especially from Liberians living abroad, about how we successfully cultivate high-quality vegetables. I’m happy to share some key steps that have contributed to our success:

1. Acquire Land: Start with a plot of at least 50 acres to give you ample space for farming.

2. Build a Comfortable Home: Construct a three-bedroom house that meets your living standards, ensuring it serves as a comfortable base for your work.

3. Establish a Water Source: Dig a borehole to provide water for drinking, bathing, and irrigating your crops.

4. Invest in Equipment: Acquire essential machinery and inputs, including a water pump, tractor, irrigation materials, and high-quality seeds.

5. Seek Education: Pursue training and attend workshops focused on modern farming techniques to enhance your knowledge and skills.

6. Hire a Dedicated Team: Select honest and hardworking staff who are passionate about agriculture, as they will be vital to your success.

By following these steps, you can lay a strong foundation for a thriving agricultural venture.” — Dukuly Khalil
