The academic journal Forensic Science International (Forensic Sciences) published a study of laser prints with the help of the magneto-optical visualizer Regula 4197. The study concerns the analysis of magnetic characteristics that depend on the properties and distribution of the toner layer. Such an analysis is crucial for determining text integrity and assessing print authenticity.
The research work was carried out and described by Ukrainian scientists employed at Regula together with specialists from Sam Houston State University (Huntsville, TX, USA). The Ukrainian team was led by Dr. Юрий Агалиди (Yuriy Agalidi), the chief design engineer of Regula 4197. The American team was headed by Dr. Patrick Buzzini, one the world’s leading experts in toner ink analysis. Dr. Arif A. Mamedov, President of Regula Forensics Inc., became the coordinator and moderator of the project.
The international cooperation has made it possible not only to unify the terminology and methodology of this research work, but also to potentially expand the geography and application areas of magneto-optical equipment.
