When I heard that John Lepe (AKA Juan Brujo) from Brujeria had passed away I remembered the great conversation I had with him back in 2016.

The interview was done over the phone and up until now there was only an audio file floating around the web. So happy I kept the master file because this interview has now been turned into a tribute to the man to blame for Metal in Spanish finally being accepted/taken seriously!

My favorite memory at Saint Vitus Bar was interviewing Dave Lombardo in Spanish!

There are very few interviews with him in his mother tongue so he was all about it and he wasn’t afraid (and never has been) to go off “script”. 100,000+ views and the comments truly define what a great talent and awesome guy David is!

Shout out to Warren Lee for letting me know I advance that he would be comfortable doing it in Spanish!

While many bands have risen to the top to then break up and reunite to cash in on the nostalgia effect, the 3 dudes from Green Day have remained together and relevant for 34 years bringing many generations of music together while never filtering their message regardless of the consequences! Yet people say they are not Punk enough…

Most importantly, they have managed to create 3 masterpieces: ‘Dookie’, ‘American Idiot’ and their brand new album ‘Saviors’! Absolutely hooked!
