One of the biggest mistakes I see people make when planning a trip to Japan is only giving Kyoto one day.

There is so much beauty in Kyoto and you definitely need more than one day to see it all. Early walks before the city wakes up, getting lost down side streets, stopping for matcha, taking your time in places that feel calm and grounded. One day barely scratches the surface.
