My baby boy was diagnosed with type 1 (insulin-dependent) diabetes, our lives haven't been the same eversince, we've been struggling with accepting his condition as the new normal while trying to learn as much as we can and be able to provide our son with the best care and minimise the occurrence of hypoglycaemic events (We live with constant fear of hypoglycemia/hyperglycemia and we could not escape the reality that one small misstep could lead to fatal outcome ) and to prevent long-term complications.

Me (45F) and husband (45M) been together for 15 years. No kids. We both have our own careers, I have a business, and our finances are relatively separated. I have a hefty disability insurance, and a not so big life insurance. He has no life insurance and low disability.

I own a remote cabin at the end of a very long, unpaved private road. About eight months ago, a major GPS and mapping app updated their systems and incorrectly marked my private driveway as a public shortcut to a nearby national park entrance.

Well, lets start a few years in the past.

My great grandparents planted an orchard, it is now at least 120 years old. My grandparents and my parents were really proud of the peach trees growing in it and did their best to keep them in good health and well. We always threw a big party when the peaches were ready to be harvested and invited all of our friends and neighbours to it. I loved those parties.

Starting the year strong, I swear.

So, my friend Dana (F29) was supposed to be getting married this past Sunday 1/14. The wedding got cancelled and things had gotten very crazy.
