The internet, we know, has proved itself to be extremely vulnerable to bad actors. Tech CEOs like Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have become the technological enforcers of the Trump administration’s authoritarian regime, making this critical infrastructure unsafe, unreliable, and ready to be used against us at any moment. Concentrated into a few vertical technology stacks controlled by just a handful of men, the internet is now structured more like an extractive plantation than the “ecosystem” that tech firms claim it to be. Seems helpless, yes? Except, we still have agency. That’s why we’re delighted to be working with Irish tech writer Maria Farrell who uses ecological ideas to bring the internet’s hidden systems into view and shows how the principle of 'rewilding' will allow us to regenerate and sustain those systems so they work for US.
