In 1998, a 13-year-old girl was abducted and r***d at knifepoint in Alicante, Spain. The ra**st, 63-year old Antonio Cosme, was sentenced to 9 years in jail.

7 years later, in 2005, the victim's mother, María del Carmen García, was waiting at a bus stop when she saw a man approaching.

"How's your daughter doing?" the man asked with a smirk on his face.

It was her daughter's ra**st.

Antonio was out on day release.

Enraged by what had just happened, Maria ran to the nearest store, purchased 1.5 litres of gasoline, and walked into the bar that Antonio had just entered.

She doused him head-to-toe with gasoline, lit him up, and stood back and calmly watched as her daughter's ra**st burned alive in front of her eyes.

Maria was sentenced to 9.5 years in jail for her act of revenge, but was released in 2018 after serving 5.5 years.

Today, she lives freely in Spain after being reunited with her daughter.

Rowan Atkinson’s academic background is remarkably technical for someone who became a global icon of slapstick comedy. After attending Durham Choristers School and St Bees School, he pursued a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Newcastle University, graduating in 1975. His academic success continued at The Queen’s College, Oxford , where he earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1978. Interestingly, his master's thesis focused on the application of self-tuning control, reflecting a high level of mathematical and scientific proficiency.

While his studies were grounded in engineering, it was during his time at Oxford that his comedic career truly began to take shape. He became deeply involved in the university's drama scene, performing with the Oxford R***e at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It was through these university theatrical groups that he met key collaborators like Richard Curtis and Howard Goodall. Although he briefly embarked on a PhD, the pull of the stage proved too strong, and he chose to pivot from a potential career in engineering to pursue the acting and comedy that eventually led to the creation of legendary characters like Blackadder and Mr. Bean.
