United 2-1 Leicester 😅
Manchester United have somehow scraped through to the 5th Round of the FA Cup courtesy of a late winner from Harry Maguire! I don’t know whether to laugh or cry after that performance because it was genuinely embarrassing. I’m just really glad we didn’t have to watch an extra 30 minutes of it. I mean at least we’ve gone through, but oh boy does this team need some serious work. Just as well we don’t play again for another 9 days, because we clearly need the training sessions.

Manchester United host Leicester City at Old Trafford for the third time this season - this time in the FA Cup 4th Round! The funny thing about this fixture is that, having beaten Leicester twice as United’s interim boss, Ruud Van Nistelrooy will return to Old Trafford tonight as the Leicester manager. Leicester haven’t exactly had a huge upsurge in results since Ruud took charge, but they have become much more difficult to beat and showed they are capable of an upset by beating Spurs away from home two weeks ago. The Dutchman will be well aware of United’s strengths and weaknesses, so I’m expecting a tough game tonight. However, the main reason why I am expecting a tough game is because we have a habit of making it tough for ourselves. United were so poor against Palace and at this stage, we’re all just fed up of how painfully inconsistent this team is. I don’t think there would be anything more typical of this United team than knocking Arsenal out at the Emirates only to lose at home to Leicester in the next round. Although Leicester are one of the worst teams in the league, I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised at all. Hopefully the players actually turn up tonight and put in a proper performance, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

“The result is really bad. The performance was a little bit better than the last games. We controlled the transitions quite well for Crystal Palace. We suffered two goals that we can avoid and the injury on Lisandro Martinez was tough for the team.” 🗣️

“I think we controlled the game quite well. In the beginning, we were a little bit slow with the tempo but also the opponent were really close to us. They covered all the space and they sprint a lot.” 🗣️

“But we managed to create some chances, and then in the second half you could see they were getting tired and we had more space in between the lines.”

“The one-against-ones for Amad and Garnacho helped a lot. We managed to score two but we should have scored more as we had some positions where it was four on two.”
