Like mother, like daughter! 🥹

22-year-old Alijah Kai has been acting and singing for years, but her star turn in the acclaimed ‘A Different World’ sequel feels like a full-circle moment, especially with her getting to share the screen with her mama, our forever fave Tichina Arnold. And yes, the two play mother-daughter on the show, too.

From Alijah’s cadence and tone to that unmistakable energy, the Tichina influence is loud and clear. And the love goes both ways, with Alijah giving her mother her flowers at every turn and Tichina doing the same for her daughter.

Feathers, a silk press and NYC showtime! 🪽✨

Momo Boyd brought her Miss Michigan era to The Big Apple, and the songstress took us behind the scenes of getting ready for the stage, from her very ’90s, Hillary Banks-inspired glam to the pre-show rituals that help her get grounded.

Between making music with her siblings in Infinity Song and stepping into her own spotlight with Miss Michigan, Momo is making room for every side of her artistry. And for her NYC show, her family was right there to celebrate the moment with her.

"I’m just trying to go deeper in my sound and have a bit more fun," she tells ESSENCE.

Megan Thee Stallion is officially joining the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Los Angeles as part of an all-women performance lineup alongside KATSEYE, Tate McRae, and Megan Moroney.

TW: The headlines keep changing. The pattern doesn’t.

As conversations around campus sexual violence continue, we’re thinking of the survivor in the resurfaced Cornell University case, LSU student Kendall Francis, who courageously came forward about her experience, and the countless survivors whose stories have made headlines, and those who never felt safe enough to tell theirs.

For every student who has been told to carry the burden of someone else’s violence. For every survivor who deserved to be believed, protected and supported from the start.

You are not alone. You are not to blame. And this community will always make room for conversations rooted in care, accountability and support.
