Chevrolet created one of the Corvette’s most recognizable features—and removed it after a single model year.

The 1963 Sting Ray coupe featured a rear window divided by a narrow central spine. It gave the car a dramatic, futuristic appearance unlike anything else on American roads.

But beauty came with a compromise.

The divider restricted the driver’s rearward visibility, and Chevrolet replaced it with a conventional single-piece window for 1964.

That decision made the original split-window coupe instantly special.

Later Corvettes became faster and more advanced, but the 1963 model captured a design moment Chevrolet could never recreate.

Should the split rear window return on a future Corvette?

🔥 THE BUICK GNX DIDN’T SAVE THE MUSCLE CAR. IT PROVED IT NEVER DIED.

By the late 1980s, many believed the golden age of American muscle was already history. Then Buick turned an unassuming black coupe into one of the decade’s most intimidating performance cars.

The 1987 Buick GNX used a turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 and was officially rated at 276 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque. Its performance was serious enough to challenge cars carrying far more exotic badges.

Only 547 GNXs were produced, helping transform the model from a brutally quick Buick into one of the most collectible American performance cars of its era.

There was no giant V8 under the hood and no need for flashy styling. Black paint, turbo power and an unmistakably aggressive presence were enough.

Decades later, the GNX remains proof that American performance didn’t disappear — it evolved. 🇺🇸🔥

💬 Would you take a GNX over a modern muscle car?
