It was an incredible honor to photograph the Parade of Ships and flyovers celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.

I’m deeply grateful to the New York Board of Commissioners of Pilots of the State of New York and the United New York/New Jersey Sandy Hook Pilots’ Benevolent Association for the opportunity to document such a historic occasion. Witnessing the precision, tradition, and pride on display—both on the water and in the sky—was an experience I’ll never forget.

Thank you for your trust and the privilege of preserving these moments from a milestone in our nation’s history.

🇺🇸 Happy 250th Anniversary, America!

This photo essay explores breath, balance, and the quiet strength of the human body through the discipline of yoga.
Each pose is a study in form, patience, and presence—captured with respect for both the physical practice and the individual behind it.

What drew me to this project was the collaboration: teachers, athletes, and the community coming together to express discipline through stillness.
Our work ethic shows up in everything we do and touch.

seeds offer food for birds during the winter. Please don’t feed birds bread, it’s bad for them and you essentially are feeding the rats. When the trunk of the he sweetgum tree is damaged the resin released emits a sweet odor. Sweetgum trees are planted for their ornamental autumn leaves and their heartiness.

I live to lift others up, celebrate their beautiful souls and celebrate the gifts they share with us all. I attract those that do the same. Thank you 🙏🏼

At age 5, he played violin, then viola in the Los Angeles Junior Symphony. At 13 he felt the calling of the saxophone. At 19 yrs of age he joined Coltrane’s drummer, elvin Jones for many years.

Accompanying Azar on Piano, is Javier Santiago, who is an alumnus of The Herbie Hancock Institute, The Brubeck Institute Fellowship Program among others.

I love chatting with John, especially when he’s wearing his Gimbel jacket and learning about the history of Pleasant Ave in East Harlem. His father used to own a pet store beside my bldg from 1971-1984. In ‘71 the rent was $50/mn until the landlord , known as the Dragon Landlord raised it to $850! Many of the bldgs in the neighborhood were burnt down he suspects for insurance money. Gratefully during the Koch administration, the dragon landlord was thrown in jail!
