Congratulations to on her first turkey! Megan wrote us “What started as a terrible morning because i stepped on a hornet while getting dressed at 4 am… turned into a good day! We sat in silence when all of a sudden we heard a cluck- never even heard a gobble we look to our right and assumed it was a hen once he got closer we realized it was a Jake I debated but ultimately decided to take the shot as its last day and my first bird ever, Also can’t leave out it’s a state bird at that! Hes not the biggest but hes mine 25 yards and he dropped where he stood. Thanks to my husband Chris Berry for getting me me out and the ultimate thank you to Cartel Custom Calls for having amazing calls, also Keystone Hunters for my awesome hat.” Megan and Chris Berry are huge supporters of our especially in our LIVE presence on Tik Tok, we couldn’t be happier for her!

Today was the first day the sun has appeared from the cloud ridden northeast sky in nearly a month. Instead of rain, gobbles of the Eastern Wild Turkey filled the air. We put 4 longbeards and 11 Jakes to bed last night with not a hen in sight. As daylight broke, the most magical show began to unfold. All were strutting and gobbling on the long limbs of an ancient white pine. Some fighting purring and jake yelping on a Crockpot Slate and Candy Paint 4 reed and they rolled in to the HDR Strutter and HDR Jake. There truly is nothing that can compare to 15 birds beating up the decoys at 10 yards. It’s the complete show, it will never get old. The north woods of Maine opened up and gave us front row seat to the beauty hidden within its hills! What a way to spend Memorial Day!!
