“To the One I Haven’t Met Yet”
Somewhere, you breathe beneath the same sky,
Not knowing yet the shape of my sigh.
But I feel you — like a prayer in my chest,
A soft echo in the places I rest.
I don’t know your name, or the lines of your face,
But I’ve saved you a corner in time and space.
A place in my laughter, a seat in my dreams,
A hand to hold through life’s shifting streams.
I imagine your voice — calm as night rain,
Washing away old shadows and pain.
I imagine your eyes, kind and wide,
A harbor where storms run out of pride.
To my future love, my patient flame,
Know I’ve waited without shame.
Not in stillness — but in becoming whole,
So when you arrive, you’ll find a soul.
Not searching for rescue, nor made of regret,
But someone who sees, remembers, and lets.
We’ll meet — two stories mid-verse,
And build a poem the world can’t rehearse.
So come when you're ready — no rush, no fear.
I’ll be living, learning, loving — right here.
And when you knock, I’ll know your name
By the way my heart whispers, "You came."
