I paid a plumbing company $4,400 to replace a sewer line under my garage, and now my garage floor looks like it lost a fight with a sidewalk šŸ˜­
They cut a huge section out of the concrete, repaired the pipe, and patched it back in with concrete that doesnā€™t even remotely match the original floor.
So I asked the foreman when they planned to stain or finish it so it would blend in betterā€¦
And this man literally laughed and said:
ā€œItā€™s a garage floor, buddy, not the Taj Mahal. Be glad itā€™s not dirt.ā€ šŸ’€
BE GLAD ITā€™S NOT DIRT??
Iā€™m sorry, but if Iā€™m paying thousands of dollars for a ā€œprofessionalā€ repair, I feel like the end result shouldnā€™t look like a random parking lot patch job.
Now Iā€™m sitting here wondering if this just tanked the appearance ā€” and possibly the resale value ā€” of my garage.
Would you push back and demand they resurface the area properly, or am I overreacting?

Walking down some very posh steps at our Hotel I noticed the carpet had a pattern placed exactly at the edge of the steps but the steps were spiraling. How was this acheived? It couldnt have been woven in pre-fitting as the spiral was iregular. Maybe printed post fitting? Any carpet specialists out there know. 65yrs, size nine. No bananas available.

Help me decorate the wall above our coffee bar! I had a vision that just doesnā€™t work so Iā€™m open to any and all ideas! The rest of the space is very mid century modern vibes. Thanks in advance!

Edit: the kitchen is right where I am standing so this is right near the kitchen, itā€™s just an open concept layout and this is the only spot it would fit. All decor ideas welcome but moving the cabinet or buying a different one is not an option currently.
