No life exists in isolation.

On Invisible Threads, eight musicians bring distinct voices into one field of attention. A world of percussion and toys. Sufi ney. Violin, flute, and voice. Bass, guitar, and live electronics. Sketches open into pauses, calls, and responses, each musician remaining fully themselves as the music takes shape through listening.

Adam Rudolph’s Invisible Threads is out now on Omni Sound, on LP, CD, and digital. Listen and order at the link in bio.

“You learn from everybody you play with.”

For Adam Rudolph, music is an exchange without a final destination. Don Cherry, Yusef Lateef, Jon Hassell, and Pharoah Sanders helped shape his path. Years later, Carlos Niño and André 3000 entered that continuing conversation, bringing their own ideas, questions, and ways of listening.

Invisible Threads arrives September 18 on Omni Sound, on LP, CD, and digital.

“Eventually, to me, it becomes the idea of becoming music.”

From Chicago’s musical communities to Ghana and Marrakesh, Adam Rudolph’s life in music has unfolded through study, listening, and lasting relationships. Each encounter has helped shape his own language in music. The exploration continues each day at his instruments, listening for what emerges and finding ways to give it form.

Invisible Threads is the latest link in that lifelong chain of discovery.

Out September 18 on Omni Sound. Preview and pre-order at the link in bio.

Some records take a moment to make. This one took forty-seven years.

Adam Rudolph met Okay Temiz and Hacı Tekbilek in Paris in 1978, hearing Oriental Wind play in a club days after his first European concerts with Don Cherry.

The friendship deepened through all-night sessions at the Creative Music Studio, and one afternoon in Stockholm in 1990, Hacı’s ney brought a hotel breakfast room to tears. Invisible Threads is where that long conversation finally reaches tape.

Out September 18 on Omni Sound.

“Ascensions” is out now, the second single from Invisible Threads.

Where “The Spin” moved on electronic groove, “Ascensions” turns inward, with the ney, the ancient Sufi reed flute, as the voice at its core.

That ney is Hacı Ahmet Tekbilek’s, and he walked to the light on August 3. He found a ney in the attic of the tailor shop where he was apprenticed, at eight years old, and never put it down. Adam Rudolph met him in Paris in 1978. In Stockholm in 1990, Hacı played in an empty hotel breakfast room until everyone there was in tears. Yusef Lateef was one of them.

You can hear him here.

“The Spin” is out now, the first thread pulled from Adam Rudolph’s *Invisible Threads*.

Eight musicians, one sustained conversation: Istanbul meets Copenhagen meets New York, decades of relationship compressed into 3:18. Rudolph builds ensembles the way other composers build pieces, musician by musician, over time.

Stream “The Spin” now, link in bio. *Invisible Threads* arrives September 18th on Omni Sound.
