I often think about how creating is a simple act of rebellion. Whether creating community or art you are rebelling against the system in a way by just enjoying something that feeds your passion. Or maybe creation is something we just cannot help but do to transmute our passion, which is, in a sense, just our suffering (etymologically passion comes from the latin word for suffering). Maybe that's why I love passionfruit. A physical manifestation of the fruits of someone's labor. What would it be like to be the farmer sitting under the shade of their passionfruit tree enjoying the fruit. Is that what I’m doing when I admire my own works? Anyway, August is all about work, service, duties to others. Deadline to submit is Aug 18!
