In Hong Kong, pets can now have their own official identity card!

This innovation, launched by the startup PID (Pet Identity Display), links each animal to a card equipped with an NFC chip: by scanning it with a smartphone, you can instantly access all essential information about the pet — its name, photo, vaccinations, and the contact details of its owner or veterinarian, among other things.

The goal is simple: to make it easier to identify lost animals, combat abandonment, and improve the traceability of pets in the city. These cards complement the mandatory microchip but provide a more practical and visible way to quickly locate a pet.

Hong Kong thus becomes one of the first places in the world to adopt such a comprehensive digital identity system for pets, a development welcomed by animal welfare advocates!

Starting next year, New York will implement a national first: private insurers will now be required to cover scalp cooling treatments for patients undergoing chemotherapy.

This method, designed to help preserve hair during cancer treatments, has so far remained very expensive — often costing between $1,500 and $5,000 per person, and rarely covered by insurance.

The principle is simple: a refrigerated cap is placed on the patient’s head before and during chemotherapy. By lowering the temperature of the scalp, blood flow to the hair roots is reduced, which limits the amount of chemotherapy drugs that reach them.

The cold also slows down the metabolism of hair cells, making them less vulnerable to the destructive effects of anticancer medications!

Pelicans don’t just stick to fish or crustaceans — these impressive birds are true opportunistic carnivores. Anything that comes within their reach can become a meal, whether it’s aquatic animals, small prey, or even more unusual — and not always edible — targets!

When he realized that his dog Monty was living his final days, Carlos Fresco wanted to give him something special: one last journey.
Suffering from advanced leukemia, the ten-year-old labradoodle no longer had the strength to walk, so Carlos placed him in a wheelbarrow and headed for the summit of Pen y Fan, a mountain in Wales they had climbed together many times.

Along the way, strangers stopped to encourage them, and some even helped push the wheelbarrow, moved by this scene of love and loyalty.

Carlos later said that Monty continued to make people smile until the very end, just as he had always done.
A few days later, the dog passed away peacefully at home, beside the one he loved most.
A final breath after a life full of companionship and shared adventures.

Rest in peace, Monty 🕊️

An employee at Omnistrans, whose 5-year-old daughter is suffering from leukemia, was offered 262.5 days of leave by his colleagues so he could stay with her. The company also granted him an additional 20 days.

Since the implementation of the “Mathys Law” in 2014, it has been possible for colleagues to donate leave days to a parent whose child is seriously ill. This gesture reflects the humanity and solidarity that employees can show within the same company.

In Nan Province, in northern Thailand, a father from the Hmong community (an ethnic group originating from the mountains of Southeast Asia) sacrificed everything to give his son a better future.
A modest farmer, he sold what he owned to fund his child’s education, convinced that education could change their destiny.

The image, which went viral, touched millions of people around the world. It illustrates the pride of a father who gave everything to provide his son with an education—a dream often out of reach in rural areas of Thailand.

No staging. Just real, simple, and powerful photos that capture a father’s boundless love!

For her first date with a man she met online, this American woman probably experienced the craziest moment of her life.
While they were driving together, the man she had just met asked her to pull over.
He went into a bank and came out with a stack of cash and a firearm, forcing the woman to speed off so they could escape.
Panicked, she complied before eventually stopping to let the police apprehend them.
Although she was cleared of any wrongdoing, this experience will likely keep the American woman away from dating sites for a long time!

In Scotland, even ponies are braving the cold wave in style.
Fivla and Vitamin, two Shetland ponies from the Thordale Centre, donned their traditional Fair Isle cardigans as part of a campaign promoting Scottish heritage.
The goal: to highlight local wool, artisanal craftsmanship, and the natural landscapes of the northern isles.
An original initiative by VisitScotland, bringing a smile while celebrating the importance of rural traditions. 🧶🐴

Wayne Hayer, 26, a student at Morehouse College in Atlanta, found himself in a bind one day: he had to attend a crucial math class but had no one to look after his five-month-old daughter, Assata. Aware of the importance of the class (and the upcoming exams), he informed his professor, Nathan Alexander, 34, who teaches algebra at the school, known for its strong community focus.

Rather than suggesting he skip class or grant an absence, Professor Alexander said, “If that’s the problem, bring her to class.” Relieved but slightly nervous, Wayne arrived that day with Assata, carrying her in a baby carrier.

Once class began, it quickly became clear that the baby’s presence was distracting Wayne: his attention wavered, and he occasionally had to pause to check on his daughter. At that point, Alexander offered to hold her so the student could focus fully on the lesson.

The professor continued teaching the entire lesson while holding the baby in the carrier.

The scene was photographed and shared on social media, where Alexander’s empathetic gesture drew widespread admiration. Many praised his ability to go beyond the traditional expectations of a teacher, taking into account the personal realities of his students. Alexander himself later downplayed the act, saying it wasn’t extraordinary in his eyes, just a way to support a student facing an everyday life challenge.

Keanu Reeves reminds us that life isn’t about chasing fame, money, or perfection.

Even though babies are not able to speak, a specialist claims that it would be desirable to ask for their consent before changing their diaper.

Australian educator Deanne Carson sparked significant controversy after appearing on television, during which she explained that parents should involve their infants by asking for permission before proceeding with a diaper change.

According to her, although the child cannot respond with words, taking a moment to observe their bodily reactions or making eye contact can help communicate that their opinion matters.

This statement divided the public: some saw it as a completely far-fetched idea, while others simply struggled to understand the purpose of this approach.

And you, do you think this method promotes respect and communication from an early age, or does it push the concept of consent a bit too far?
