This week on the final episode of the two-part season finale of A Life's Story we hear the gripping conclusion to the story of Beverley Schottenstein, a 94-year-old woman who was defrauded by her two grandsons. We get deeper into how her family betrayed her, stole everything from her, and pushed her to her absolute limits until she finally found justice.

Today we release the first of a 2-part season finale on A Life's Story. Beverley Schottenstein a 94 year old grandma is ripped off, defrauded and gaslighted by her 2 adult grandsons. When she starts to catch on, they try to convince her she has dementia (spoiler- she doesn't). Listen to the story of a kind old lady pushed to her limit. Despite not always understanding all of the legal and financial technicalities of her grandson’s fraud, Beverley knew it was wrong. Beverley, with the help of her caregiver and granddaughters ultimately makes a stand and fights back. Find out how she was able to put an end to the dishonesty and uncover familial betrayal of the highest order.

Eddy Goldfarb invented over 800 toys, he was important in all of our childhoods. He's in the Toy Industry Hall of Fame with Milton Bradley, Jim Henson and Walt Disney. At 99 years old Eddy is still inventing. He's also got a new lady in his life and walks 2 miles a day. Eddy is a delight.

This week's episode is the start of a special 3-part episode of A Life's Story about 92 year old Ben Lesser. Ben is a holocaust survivor. Ben tells the story he was unable to tell for some 50 years. As an 11 year old boy Ben evaded the N**i's for 5 years. Ultimately captured, Ben survived the unimaginable horrors of 4 N**i death camps.
Ben's story is both hard to listen to and perhaps the most important story you will ever hear.
Ben's story is the story of helplessness. It is also the story of strength, to resist, evade, outthink, outrun and outlast the continued onslaught of brutality.

The newest development is this: We are offering the service for people, privately. We will capture the life story of your parent or grandparent in their own voice, and produce it into a beautiful audio documentary with all the bells and whistles that are in the public podcast episodes: multiple in-depth interviews, professional narration, historical sound, expert pacing through professional editing, and we score with music. When finished, it is a beautiful piece of audio storytelling. For every one we have done so far- the parent has been SO touched and flattered. Later, these become family treasures for you.
I wish I did this with my own parents. I do miss them, will always. Today I'd give anything to hear them tell their own stories in their own voices again. With that I thought "that's a service worth providing". My 7 year old nephew, who was just a few months old when my father, his great grandpa, passed away- has begun asking about him. I wish I had a piece where he could hear Grouchy Abe tell his own life story in his own voice again.
Fathers Day, Mothers Day, an important birthday, or just because it feels like the right time. , I suggest to you it makes a special and meaningful gift in more ways than one. Truly the gift of a lifetime.
These are labor intensive projects, and the price reflects that, so in that sense they aren't for everybody. Episode 2 dropped today. June Aochi Berk and her family were held for years in a Japanese Internment camp in the US while her brother was fighting for the same government who was imprisoning her family. She is the face of grace and resilience. Within her episode June told me a mind blowing story about the US gov't that I did not believe and had to research. It was true.

Episode one is my conversation with Robina Asti. 99. Robina, born Robert, was a WW2 veteran. He transitioned to a woman in the 1970's, at a tremendous personal cost. When Robina became a widow at age 94 she fought discrimination from the same government that she fought for in WW2. I speak to her at 99, when she is about to go into the Guinness Book of World records as the oldest active pilot in the world. What a life story!
It is tough to get traction in the crowded podcast space. It would mean so much if you could listen, subscribe, and review. The reviews on Apple podcasts mean the most for some reason.
