Inspired by the beauty of ‘La Noire’ meaning black in other languages, Lorraine Love opened LaNoire Bridal in May 2022, aiming to provide a welcoming space for all brides.

In just six months, LaNoire Bridal, owned by Lorraine Love, has sold around 30 bridal gowns. Mayor Maria Regan Gonzalez of Richfield, Minnesota, had a fantastic experience shopping there.

At 41, Stephanie Synclair, a Black mom from Atlanta, made Sicily her second home, purchasing a $62,000 house in 2022 to escape high U.S. home prices.

In 2012, after quitting a 10-year corporate marketing career, Synclair and her then 6-year-old son, Caden, took a spontaneous $250 trip to Sicily.

Driven by the evolving U.S. housing market, Synclair explored global options. Through a Facebook group, she found Mussomeli in Sicily, known for selling homes as low as 1 euro.

In March 2022, she closed a deal on her historic 3-bedroom house for approximately $62,000, currently undergoing renovations.

In 1905, after his main barber shop was destroyed in the Atlanta race riots, Herndon shifted to real estate and later transformed a failing mutual aid association into the thriving Atlanta Family Life Insurance Company. The success led to expansion across various states.

In 1921, Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander made history as the first Black woman to earn a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, having previously completed her Master’s degree there. 🎓✨

Born in Philadelphia, Sadie came from a trailblazing family—her father, Aaron Albert Mossell II, was the first African American to graduate from UPenn Law School, paving the way for her future accomplishments.

In 1923, Sadie broke another barrier by becoming the first Black woman admitted to the same law school. By 1927, she was practicing law with a focus on family and state matters, using her legal expertise to advance civil rights and fight systemic inequality. ⚖️🖤

Minneapolis native, Moore excelled at Minneapolis North High School, leading Lady Polars to state championship in 1998, earning Ms. Basketball.

She went on to play in the WNBA for 6 seasons with teams including Miami Sol and Minnesota Lynx. Then she coached high school basketball for 7 seasons.
