I’ve never been a fan of Christine. I listened to the audiobook on a recent drive and I came here to say that I walked away with a newfound respect for her. The book is good. She strives to be a truth teller of her own story and she does it well. It’s an interesting read and she’s a good person. Worth the money spent

How can one man be a good father to 18 children? He can’t.
It’s strange to me that the wives didn’t realize that one man cannot be an effective parent to so many children. Meri, Christine and Robyn must have known that he wouldn’t be available to the kids because they grew up in polygamy. Right?
For example… my mom is the youngest of 10 children. She was an aunt before she was born. The relationship with her parents was nothing like our parental relationship because they were so busy and probably tired by the time she came along and that’s with only 10 kids.
I only have 2 boys, a daughter in law and a grandson. Sometimes I’m on the phone hours of the day FaceTiming the baby, talking to my son who works far away so I can’t imagine trying to stay in touch with so many kids. It’s just not doable.
I’m not defending Kody. He’s a disgusting piece of s**t.
I was just wondering how in the world they thought that having so many kids would look any different than it does. Kody mentioned it in one of the season 19 episodes and I thought the ego of this scumbag. He thought that his kids would all love and adore him when there just isn’t enough time to foster good relationships.
It was never about the kids. It was all about him.
Am I wrong? Any huge families out there that are super close?

Just Finished Christine’s Book!
Just finished the book by listening on Amazon. In the last chapter Christine mentions Robin and Kody severed ties with Mykelti, where I thought it was the other way around. I think this definitely changes my thoughts on what caused the situation.
Also, I just really like reading everyone else’s conspiracy theories.
What do you guys think?

I am rewatching now from the beginning and I am starting to appreciate Janelle more and more. When it comes to money she seems to be the only sensible one.
I really think everyone else was not worried about money because they knew Janelle would figure it out somehow. She would pay the mortgage and keep the lights on somehow. She put in her entire income and worried about the future.
She believed in polygamy and sharing all her resources until the end.
When I hear them say another wife has expensive taste and likes nice things it just makes me feel bad for Janelle. They just laugh and play it off, meanwhile here is Janelle with her giant ledger trying to make it all work. Often, at the expense of her own resources.
She has the 3 bedroom house with 6 kids while Meri has the 5 bedroom house with a wet bar for one kid. She has duct tape holding her drivers side window up while Kody drives a convertible. She did all their taxes and knew how ridiculous the spending was, they didn’t care. The chick was in a RV and student housing while Robin was in a McMansion. They farted around and delayed paying off Coyote Pass while she lived in tiny homes. All the while, holding her blue prints for her small dream house that was never gonna be built.
She doesn’t get enough credit, they took advantage of her and her love of the family.
She would have stayed forever if it wasn’t for the mistreatment of her kids. I am proud of her for leaving and I hope she finds someone who deserves her
