Qatar's TASMU Accelerator shows early signs of success with QAR 2.92 billion in startup value
Three years after its launch, Qatar's government-backed TASMU Accelerator is beginning to deliver measurable results. According to the latest progress report, 50 startups across two cohorts have reached a combined portfolio valuation of QAR 2.92 billion, with QAR 479 million in sales and QAR 228 million raised from investors worldwide.
Notably, the second cohort alone accounts for QAR 1.10 billion in value, signaling strong momentum for Qatar's digital transformation strategy under Vision 2030 and the Digital Agenda 2030.
The initiative, launched by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, addresses structural challenges in the local startup scene: access to capital, talent, and market opportunities. It focuses on four sectors where Qatar seeks global leadership: healthcare, environment, transportation and logistics, and tourism.
Unlike many accelerators, TASMU offers intensive support: over 2,000 hours of one-on-one mentorship, structured investor engagement, and partnerships with major institutions like Microsoft, Qatar Airways, and Hamad Medical Corporation. Nearly 50 local entities are now working directly with participating startups.
With startups like Santechture (AI hospital billing), WrenEV (EV charging solutions), DeepLeaf (AI crop disease detection), and PHYSIOHOME (home physical therapy) already piloting and selling real-world solutions, TASMU is emerging as a serious national platform, one that combines policy with ex*****on.
The program received over 1,185 applications from 78 countries, with international interest surging between cohorts, positioning Qatar as an emerging startup destination in the Gulf region.
