At just nine years old, Aleida Perez isn’t playing outside or chasing ice cream trucks — she’s fighting for her life.
Her world is now a hospital room, filled with machines, prayers, and pain.
Doctors say she has Acute Myeloid Leukemia, an aggressive cancer attacking her blood and bone marrow.
Since starting a higher dose of chemo, she’s been vomiting, burning with fever, her small body exhausted.
Her mom, Maggie, stays by her side every second — whispering prayers, holding her hand, begging God for strength.
“She keeps saying, ‘Mommy, make it stop,’” Maggie said. “And I can’t. I just tell her she’s strong.”
Even through pain, Aleida smiles. She waves to nurses, draws hearts and stars, and says, “These are for when I’m all better.”
She believes she’ll beat this — and maybe she will.
Because some battles aren’t just about medicine. They’re about faith, love, and a little girl who refuses to give up.
