জ্ঞান বনাম প্রজ্ঞা:
~~~~~~
সাধারণ অর্থে তথ্য বা বিষয় সংগ্রহ করা, অনেক তথ্য বা ডেটা মুখস্থ রাখাকে জ্ঞান বলে থাকে। কিন্তু সেই তথ্যগুলোর পেছনের সত্য উপলব্ধি করা, নিজের সীমাবদ্ধতা বোঝা এবং সেই জ্ঞানের গভীরে প্রবেশ করা এবং সত্যকে উন্মোচন করার মূল চাবিকাঠি লুকিয়ে আছে সঠিক প্রশ্ন করার দক্ষতার মধ্যে। কখন কোন পরিস্থিতিতে কোন সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে হবে, তা জানাই হলো প্রজ্ঞা।
• জ্ঞান হলো সঠিক উত্তর জানা,
* বুদ্ধিমত্তা হলো সঠিক প্রশ্ন করা,
* প্রজ্ঞা হলো সঠিক সময়ে সঠিক প্রশ্নটি করতে জানা।
একটি অন্ধ ধারণাকে ধরে না রেখে, তা নিয়ে প্রশ্ন তুলতে পারাই মানুষকে প্রকৃত সত্যের কাছাকাছি নিয়ে যায়।
যিনি নিজেকে সবজান্তা ভাবেন, তিনি নতুন কিছু শেখার দরজা বন্ধ করে দেন। পক্ষান্তরে, একজন প্রজ্ঞাবান মানুষ জানেন যে তিনি সবকিছু জানেন না। এই বিনয় থেকেই জন্ম নেয় জানার আগ্রহ এবং সঠিক প্রশ্ন করার তাগিদ।
তাই সব কিছু জানাই প্রজ্ঞা নয়, বরং সঠিক প্রশ্ন করার পদ্ধতি এবং তা কখন করতে হবে সেই বিচক্ষণতা জানাই হলো প্রকৃত প্রজ্ঞা।
বুদ্ধের মতে, প্রকৃত জ্ঞান (বা প্রজ্ঞা, পালি ভাষায় ‘পঞ্না’ এবং সংস্কৃতে ‘প্রজ্ঞা’) কেবল কোনো সাধারণ তথ্য বা বুদ্ধিবৃত্তিক পড়াশোনা নয়। বুদ্ধের দর্শনে জ্ঞান বলতে বোঝায় বাস্তবতার স্বরূপ সম্পর্কে সরাসরি এবং গভীর উপলব্ধি।
সংক্ষেপে বলতে গেলে, জ্ঞান যদি হয় একটি বন্ধ ঘর, তবে সঠিক প্রশ্ন করার পদ্ধতিটি হলো সেই ঘরের দরজা খোলার চাবি। আর এই চাবিটি সঠিকভাবে ব্যবহার করার নামই প্রজ্ঞা।
The core concern of Buddha Dharma (Buddhism) is the elimination of human suffering (dukkha) and the cycle of rebirth (samsara), rather than the exploration of a creator god or cosmic origins. The Buddha viewed speculative theology as a distraction from the urgent practical work of mental liberation. The absolute essence of the Buddha Dharma. The historical Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, prioritized the immediate reality of human life and suffering over theological speculation, choosing deliberate silence when asked about a supreme creator God. Buddhism functions primarily as a practical, non-theistic philosophy and psychological framework rather than a faith-based religion centered on divine intervention.
The core principles of Buddhist philosophy.
• The Four Noble Truths.
• The Eightfold Path (or The Noble Eightfold Path).
A professor was lecturing at a university. As soon as the class began, a student let out a whistle.The professor stopped and asked:— "Who whistled?"No one answered.He resumed his lecture. After a short while, that same student whistled again.The professor stopped once more and asked:— "Who is whistling?"Still, no one answered.He started teaching again. But this time, when the whistle blew for the third time, he closed his pen, packed up his books, and said:— "Today's class ends here. But I am going to tell you a story."Silence fell over the classroom, and everyone paid close attention.The professor began:"One night, I couldn't sleep. Feeling restless, I left my house and started driving somewhere with no specific destination in mind.Suddenly, I saw an elderly woman standing by the roadside carrying a heavy load.I stopped the car and asked, 'Mother, do you need any help?'She was delighted and got into the car.As we drove along, I realized she knew me quite well.She looked straight into my eyes and said:— 'Doctor Sahib, I have an illegitimate son who studies at your very university. I want you to look out for him and help shape him into a good man.'I replied:— 'Of course, Mother, but if you tell me his name, I will easily recognize him.'She smiled and said:— 'There is no need to tell you his name. You will recognize him yourself—he is very mischievous and always whistles in class.'"Hearing this, every single student in the class turned and stared right at the student who had been whistling!The professor then looked at him and said:"Come here, my little brother, did you really think I bought my PhD certificate at a donkey market?"
