We’re in the final stretch… ⏳ Reggie has been in strict crate rest for the past 3.5 weeks since his surgery, and this Thursday will mark a full month since it all began. He’ll be seeing his neurologist on Thursday as well to hopefully get the green light to come out of crate rest and start rebuilding his strength. 💪
The first couple of weeks of bringing him home were incredibly tough—seeing him in pain and having to keep him still for so long was heartbreaking. But over the past week and a half, we’ve seen a huge turnaround. Reggie is so much stronger in his back legs, he’s no longer showing signs of pain, and he’s finding joy in the little things like his licky mat. 💙
I know I’ve been quiet here, and I truly apologize for not responding to messages and updating you all sooner. It’s been such a whirlwind of sleepless nights since the beginning of February, and with Reggie having had three emergency spine surgeries in three years, it’s been incredibly overwhelming—physically and emotionally. I also had to step back after receiving some harsh messages telling me I should put him down, that I was being selfish for putting him through another surgery, and that I should donate the money to other causes instead of spending it on a dog. While I usually don’t let negativity get to me, the exhaustion finally caught up, and I needed a break.
To those who have followed our journey and shown us love—you know we’ve done everything in our power to protect Reggie and get him back to health. Every step we’ve taken has been for him, and I would never put him through pain for my own sake. Thank you for all the messages of encouragement and support, they’ve meant more than I can express. 🙏
We’re hopeful for good news this Thursday. I’ll be sure to keep you all updated. Thank you for your patience and love—Reggie and I are so grateful.
