Female National Service personnel get instant employment from Mahama after aiding Akosombo f!re response

A female National Service personnel has been recommended for immediate employment after her role in the response to the recent f!re at the Akosombo GRIDCO substation.

In a report shared by JoyNews on May 1, 2026, President John Dramani Mahama made the recommendation during his inspection tour of the facility on Thursday, April 30.

The post stated, “In recognition of exceptional dedication, President Mahama has recommended automatic employment for a female national service person who played a role in recovery efforts following the Akosombo GRIDCO Substation fire incident.”

The president also praised engineers who worked on restoring power after the disruption. According to him, their efforts helped stabilise the national grid.

He noted that the service personnel showed “exceptional dedication and professionalism,” which contributed to the recovery process.
