Is this acceptable quality from professional painters?
We hired painters to paint walls, doors, trim. They spilled paint on the carpet, got paint splatters in the stove/mirrors/furniture etc, and didn’t paint areas where they thought we wouldn’t see like behind cabinets. Am I being unreasonable in thinking that this is not professional work? If it helps, we paid about 6.5k for 2000 square feet.

I am a very reasonable person but after close inspection, I am very concerned.
We had specifically talked about grout lines with the designer and rectified tile to minimize them. The contractor was recommended by the bathroom designer. Please help me here, I hate confrontation and really value any input you can give me on this. The grout spacing is all over the place from less than 1/8inch to greater than 1/4. Zoom in to see. HELP NEEDED - Are these posts ok with wooden shims? My contractor clearly didn’t cut the post high enough and is using wooden shims to bridge the gap to the beam. Is this ok? Should I have him redo the posts? Deck is 7ft high, and tied to the house on two sides. 22 x 12 dimension.

Is $2000 for labor only on this tile job too much? I’m finishing a basement and have decided on a tub/shower combo since I’ll be living there and I love my baths. Framing is done, bathtub is installed, and the plumber is installing the fixtures after tile work so that part isn’t included in the price.

I have purchased all the tile, grout, mortar, caulk, and trim. The contractor is supplying the backer board, the materials needed for niche, and the labor. I was quoted $1300 for the tile installation with one niche. I have requested 3 niches for the extra shelving since the storage will be limited. He is requesting $300 per additional niche. Is this unreasonable?

Bathroom threshold. Hi all. Quick backstory. Our builder didn’t think installing the shower recess/step down into our suspended concrete slab (as on our approved plans) was necessary. This bathroom is to have a maximum of 5mm step up at the shower area and room threshold as per livable housing standards (qld). He realised too late that the whole point of the recess was to ensure appropriate fall to the shower waste without exceeding the 5mm step up at the door. The photo shows what his ‘fix’ to the problem is - a 50mm waterstop was installed at the threshold and bedding then laid up to this height to achieve the required fall. A tiled ramp was then installed leading out into the bedroom. Am I wrong in believing that this is too steep? My elderly grandmother will be using this bathroom after suffering a stroke. Appreciate any insight. Thanks.

How would you tile stairs and patio?

About to tile front patio and stairs but struggling with tile selection. The top patio is okay, looking at 300mm x 600mm tiles and staggering them. The stairs are the problem. 300mm x 600mm would mean three joins on each step, which sounds unappealing to me (the stairs are 960mm x 340mm). Square 600mm x 600mm solves my problem on the stairs, but I’m unsure if square tiles on the patio will look any good… any other ideas?
