Two iconic salsa reissues return to CD, remastered from the original master tapes and following their acclaimed vinyl reissues.

💿 Siembra (1978) — Willie Colón & Rubén Blades
Released as the second collaboration between Colón and Blades on Fania Records, Siembra is one of the most influential salsa albums in Latin music history. Featuring “Pedro Navaja,” “Buscando Guayaba,” and “Plástico,” the album merges Afro-Caribbean rhythms with Blades’ sociopolitical storytelling and Colón’s genre-bending production. Remastered from the original analog master tapes.

💿 La Gran Fuga (1970) — Willie Colón & Héctor Lavoe
A Gold-certified classic that crystalizes the Colón/Lavoe aesthetic of the early ’70s. From the joyful “Abuelita” to the emotional depth of “Barrunto,” the album reflects life’s reckless joys and profound tragedies. Newly remastered from the original master tapes and back on CD for the first time in over 15 years.

102 years of living salsa history 🌟

Born in Coamo, Puerto Rico in 1924, Willie Rosario was an architect of sound. A percussionist turned bandleader, and since the 1960s at the helm of one of the most respected orchestras in the Caribbean and New York. Known as “Mr. Afinque” for his precise, steady, and defined rhythmic style.

In the early 1960s, he signed with Alegre Records, playing alongside musicians helping shape the language of Latin sounds as it evolved into what we now call salsa.

Today, on , we honor two Puerto Rican masters who helped shape the sound of jazz.

Pianist, composer, and bandleader Eddie Palmieri, “El Maestro” revolutionized Latin jazz and Afro-Caribbean music, leaving behind more than forty bold, timeless albums that continue to inspire generations.

Before becoming a salsa icon, conguero, composer, and bandleader Ray Barretto, “Hard Hands” was a driving force in New York’s jazz scene, performing alongside legends like Dizzy Gillespie and Kenny Burrell while expanding the boundaries of Latin jazz, soul, and salsa.

Both artists never stayed in one lane, pushing rhythms forward, blending traditions, and reshaping jazz and Latin music.
