Meet our G-Woman IV League Partner: Jill Cox-Cordova

Jill Cox-Cordova holds an MFA from Spalding University's Naslund-Mann Graduate School of Writing in Louisville, Kentucky, and a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Northwestern University. She freelanced for Essence magazine as a writer, worked as an associate editor at the Library Journal, and produced at such media outlets as CNN.com, MSNBC, NBC, and The Weather Channel.

Now she writes both nonfiction and fiction. Plus, she co-hosts with her husband a video podcast called “I’m Right. I’m Right,” which is a 30-minute, weekly show in which they have comical conversations about relationships of all types, from lovers and families to friends and colleagues.

She lives in metro Atlanta in Georgia.

Rita Okoye—affectionately known as RiRi, is an event marketing powerhouse and passionate wellbeing advocate dedicated to helping people thrive at work and flourish in life.

Her career began at the BBC, where she spent eight dynamic years driving high-energy marketing campaigns and orchestrating memorable events. That foundation inspired the creation of Majestically Rare, her consultancy through which she has delivered outstanding corporate events across Africa and Europe.

Rita has since partnered with global brands including J.P. Morgan and Bank of America, designing and executing impactful events that connect, inspire, and deliver measurable results. Alongside her event leadership, she is a certified Happiness Coach and host of the Happiness Growth Podcast, where she shares insights on personal and professional wellbeing.

A strong advocate for workplace wellness, Rita delivers transformative talks, coaching, mentoring, and wellbeing programs that blend strategy with empathy, ensuring success is never achieved at the expense of mental health. She is an award-winning author, educator, and consultant specializing in women, media, and culture. Internationally recognized as Dr. 007 for her groundbreaking work on the James Bond franchise, she examines how gender, race, and identity are represented—and often challenged—on screen. With over a decade of experience in higher education and leadership, Lisa has published eleven books and dozens of articles exploring media, feminism, and equity.

Her expertise has been featured by CNN, BBC, and the South China Morning Post, and she frequently appears in documentaries and podcasts around the world. Passionate about empowering women’s voices and stories, Lisa works at the intersection of scholarship, media, and advocacy to reimagine who gets to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

At Mars Inc., she founded Africa’s first Cross-Segment Women’s Resource Group, achieved a 30%+ increase in engagement scores, and spearheaded international talent and early careers strategies.

Nerisha has been featured in CHRO Magazine, and regularly speaks at leading industry events, including HR Africa Indaba, KR L&D Conference, and Accenture’s Rising Star Awards (where she has served twice as a judge).

With over 15 years of dedicated service to youth empowerment, she brings her cultivated experiences, scientific wisdom, and heart-centered guidance to every stage she steps on. With over 30 years of experience in corporate, nonprofit, and philanthropic sectors—including at Fortune 100 companies, the Gates Foundation, Microsoft, and Starbucks—Susan is known for driving culture change with courage and clarity. Her work helps organizations address inequity, strengthen leadership, and maintain impact across industries such as technology, education, and philanthropy.

Honoring Susan Stamberg: The Voice That Opened Doors for Women in Media.

Yesterday, the world of broadcast media bid farewell to a trailblazer. Susan Stamberg (1938 – 2025), NPR’s first female evening-news anchor and its beloved Founding Mother, has passed away at 87.

Susan wasn’t just a renowned broadcaster—she was a builder. Her warmth, wit, and unwavering curiosity helped shape National Public Radio into the storytelling institution we know today. As the first woman to anchor a national news broadcast in the U.S., she became a living example of what courage behind the mic can sound like.

She shattered ceilings simply by showing up curious, prepared, and unapologetically herself.

She once said that radio was about “the intimacy of voice.” Through that voice, she made millions feel seen and heard. She inspired generations of women—broadcasters, reporters, producers, and dreamers to take the mic and make history. And gave us 50 years on air. She made radio human. She made storytelling a home.

At G-Woman Media, we celebrate Susan Stamberg as a symbol of feminine audacity in storytelling. Her legacy reminds us that the future of media will be shaped by women who dare to use their voices.
