Artist dates matter.

Ruth Asawa’s woven metal sculptures at MoMA remind me how beauty can be built from structure, repetition, and restraint. She learned wire techniques from Mexican basket weavers—transforming a utilitarian craft into fine art that feels weightless in motion and shadow.

NYC gives us endless access to work that recalibrates how we see.

What are you hungry for?

Degrees Bistro is the culinary heartbeat of the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown: refined comfort with a modern edge. Whether you’re there for a slow evening or a working lunch, the kitchen leans into balance—quality ingredients, thoughtful portions, and clean flavor profiles.

Elements of Design: Hotel Edition 🖤

There’s a distinct aesthetic at The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown — refined, textural, and grounded in its industrial roots.

Originally a 1930s industrial building, the hotel layers steel beams, tall ceilings, sculptural lighting, and warm wood paneling into a look that’s both historic and modern. The smokestack, the metalwork, and the muted palette pull you into a design story that feels unmistakably Georgetown.

➤ Save this for your next design-forward city escape — one that keeps you connected to history.

The Ritz-Carlton Georgetown redefines urban elegance with soulful, industrial-chic refinement. Here’s what stood out:

➤ The Wow Factor → Thoughtful, highly personal amenities — the kind that feel tailored just for you.

➤ Signature Bite → Baked Alaska in the lobby by the wood-burning fireplace, followed by classic S’mores in The Living Room’s warm glow.

What’s not to love about the Royal Potomac Suite? It has the feel of a modern Georgetown residence — spacious, warm, and thoughtfully put together. The 2,900+ sq ft layout includes a dining room for ten, a gas-lit sitting room, and a private study. The palette stays calm and understated, with soft neutrals, crisp millwork, and touches of blue and amber that give the space quiet character.

A standout for travelers who appreciate personality, thoughtful design, and a strong sense of place woven through every detail.

Culture in Motion 🇧🇸

There’s a rhythm in The Bahamas that you don’t just hear — you instantly become an instrument and performer.

➤ Have you ever experienced this kind of vibrant procession?

I captured this moment as dancers and musicians moved through the Baha Mar Convention Center, their performance and energy instantly filling the room.

If the outside of Lyndhurst tempts the imagination, the inside rewards it.
⠀⠀
From velvet-lined walls, sunlit parlors, and carved staircases, every surface has a story. Light filters through stained glass and lands on carefully chosen finishes—parquet floors, ornate trim, tall mirrors that reflect more than just the room.
⠀⠀
I lingered on what’s often overlooked: the in-between spaces, the textures, the craftsmanship—the details that make a place feel intact even after decades of change.

There’s something about walking into Brooklyn French Bakers that feels instantly transportive—like stepping into a corner boulangerie in Paris, where everything smells like crusty sourdough and mornings start with delicious purpose.

Beyond the glossy pastries and macarons, the bread here is its own story: hearty loaves, rustic baguettes, and beautifully blistered crusts, all made with time, care, and that unmistakable French precision.

And tucked among the shelves, you’ll find jars from Madeleine & Co.—made the old-school way by a fellow French expat, Corinne Ouelhadj Engel, who shares the same dedication to craft. Her jams are small-batch and seasonal, with just a few simple ingredients and a whole lot of soul. The kind of addition that turns a slice of bread into something unmistakably French and memorable.

If chocolate had a love language, The Conche would be fluent.

Every corner of this Leesburg gem is designed to tempt you—from cocktails laced with ganache to gleaming displays of hand-crafted chocolates that look too perfect to eat (but you absolutely should).

These images only hint at the full experience Chef Santosh Tiptur has created. Here, chocolate isn’t just a treat—it’s the star of the show.

If chocolate was a love language…which one would melt you?

If your pantry’s been feeling a little… uninspired lately, this is your sign to shop like an athentic Italian.

Caffe Bottega Italiana isn’t just a café—it’s a treasure chest of Italy’s best-kept culinary secrets. The shelves are stacked with the kind of goods you usually need a passport (and a checked bag) to bring home: rich balsamic vinegars, bronze-cut pasta, imported cured meats and cheeses, pistachio everything, and olive oils so beautiful you’ll want to display them like art.

Everything here is handpicked and straight from Italy—and if you don’t know what something is, just ask. The family behind the counter will treat you like their own and perhaps even reply in Italian.

A little tip? Bring a tote. You’ll thank me later. 😉
