Ruby: We met through friends.
Laney: I was going to a brunch at this guy’s house and Ruby was there and—magic.
Ruby: We became friends. Now we’re together thirty-one years.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION OF HER?
Ruby: She was just a very wonderful person.
Laney: Oh, really?
Ruby: It’s never changed. She gets more wonderful every day, honest to God.
WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION OF HER?
Laney: Very attractive, very nice, and I wanted to be friends with her.
WHAT’S THE SECRET TO THIRTY-ONE YEARS TOGETHER?
Laney: Just respecting the other person and not being rigid. Compromising when you need to.
WHAT ARE YOU TWO MOST EXCITED FOR IN THE FUTURE?
Ruby: Just to continue being together. It’s wonderful. It’s just wonderful.
