President Donald Trump canceled the signing ceremony for a housing bill that passed with bipartisan support as Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) was having a news conference with Republican leadership and the bill’s sponsor.

Trump’s announcement came just an hour and a half before the ceremony was set to begin. He also appeared dismissive of the bill in a post shortly before that announcement. “The Elizabeth ‘Pocanhontas’ Warren centric housing bill, which is of minor importance compared to lower interest rates, and even FISA, pales in comparison to passing THE SAVE AMERICA ACT.”

Trump did not indicate that he would veto the bill, and Johnson appeared to imply that he expected Trump to sign the bill at a later date. “As you know, he has a window of time before he has to sign a bill, and he’s going to use a little bit more of that window of time, and we are going to go through this together.”

Tulsi Gabbard, President Donald Trump’s Director of National Intelligence, announced that she will resign from her role. She said that her husband was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer, and that she was leaving her job to help him.

Gabbard’s resignation will be effective June 30. Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence Aaron Lukas will serve in her position on an interim basis.

As tensions with Iran continue, President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., is set to get married this weekend. During a news conference, Trump was asked if he would make it to the wedding.

“He’d like me to go. It’s going to be just a small little private affair. I’m gonna try and make it. I said, ‘You know, this is not good timing for me. I have a thing called Iran and other things.’ That’s one I can’t win on. If I do attend I get killed. If I don’t attend I get killed by the fake news of course I’m talking about.”

During his concession speech, Rep. Thomas Massie once again appeared to attack his opponent, Ed Gallrein, for taking significant donations from pro-Israel organizations.

“I would have come out sooner, but I had to call my opponent and concede,” Massie said. “And it took a while to find Ed Gallrein in Tel Aviv.”

Massie frequently criticized Gallrein for receiving outside spending from pro-Israel groups, including the Republican Jewish Coalition Victory Fund and The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

Massie often votes against the U.S. supplying foreign aid to Israel and has been accused of being antisemitic. He has denied those allegations, saying that he votes against all foreign aid.

Gallrein defeated Massie by 9.8 percentage points after significant involvement from President Donald Trump. The president has frequently been at odds with Massie, whom he called “the worst Republican Congressman in history.”

On Monday, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that, as part of the settlement agreement between Trump and the IRS, it would create a new fund that could “issue formal apologies and monetary relief” to individuals and entities who claim to have suffered from lawfare and DOJ weaponization. The anti-weaponization fund will receive $1.776 billion from the federal government’s judgment fund used to settle and pay other cases. Five people, appointed by the Attorney General, will oversee the new fund; one of the five must be chosen in consultation with congressional leadership.

The new fund will provide monetary relief to claimants who allege they were politically targeted by the Justice Department under previous presidential administrations, and the settlement creating the fund did not contain any language specifying congressional or judicial review. Instead, it will be required to report the sum of its disbursements and its recipients to the Attorney General on a quarterly basis. Applicants can choose to file claims, and there is no partisan requirement to file. The fund will process claims until December 1, 2028, just before the end of President Trump’s term.

Trump-backed candidate and former Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein has defeated incumbent Rep. Thomas Massie in the primary for Kentucky’s 4th congressional district, according to Decision Desk HQ.

President Donald Trump has put significant effort into unseating Massie. The Kentucky congressman has frequently voted against Trump, including on “The One Big, Beautiful Bill.” He also co-led the effort to pass the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

The race became the most expensive House primary on record, according to AdImpact Politics, which began tracking in 2018.

President Donald Trump has endorsed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton over incumbent Senator John Cornyn. Trump’s endorsement is seen as highly influential in the race, and could prove decisive.

The Republican Senate primary in Texas has become one of the most closely watched — and the most expensive — Senate primaries in history. Well over $100 million has been spent in the race, and Republican Senate leaders were hoping Cornyn would prevail. Paxton has faced many scandals throughout his career, and is seen by many as a weaker candidate in the general election.

The runoff will be held next week. The winner will face Democratic nominee James Talarico in November.

Representative Mike Lawler (R-NY) accused Senator Rand Paul’s (R-KY) son of making antisemetic insults towards Lawler.

He alleges that he was at a bar for dinner and that William Paul, Rand Paul’s son, interrupted his conversation to say that if Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) loses, it would be because of Lawler’s “people.” Lawler asked him what people he was referring to, and Paul responded “Jews.” Lawler says that when he told Paul that he was not Jewish, Paul said he was “sorry to accuse you of that.”

Lawler says Paul then went on a 10-minute long rant, which included him stating that he hates Jewish and gay people and does not care if they die.

The younger Paul apologized on X. “Last night, I had too much to drink and said some things that don’t represent who I really am,” he wrote. “I’m sorry and today I am seeking help for my drinking problem.”
