Please join us for a housing roundtable on December 16th at 1pm at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church by emailing [email protected] to RSVP. This is an essential meeting to implement vital housing policies for the incoming administration.

During this affordability crisis in Harlem & NYC it is more important than ever that our community leaders (faith leaders, politicians, and residents)come together to demand change. Too many people are being priced out of this city. It is time to implement realistic housing policies and economic development projects to create social mobility and help people actually afford their homes. The Black community is being hit the hardest by this affordability crisis especially in Harlem, so we must make sure the One45 Project has deep affordability rates, or this will be the end of Harlem as we know it.

On November 20th we are having a rally to demand affordability for the One45 Project and set a new precedent for NYC development. We need to ensure that people from the Harlem community can afford to live in this project. If this project is developed with the proposed affordability levels it will quickly gentrify the HEART OF HARLEM, Lenox Avenue, and set a negative precedent for future development in Harlem and NYC.

This project should be apart of the mayor elects first 100 days so he can implement actual affordability!

We need the Harlem and NYC community to stand together so we can start creating ACTUAL AFFORDABLE HOUSING!

Essential words from our Vice-Chair Dr. Dedrick Blue, as he addresses the fact that people earning between $34,320-$65K a year (70% of whom are of color) are being pushed out the city and becoming the homeless workforce! We must enact housing policies that protect this essential workforce!

The people earning between $34,320-$65,000 a year have been ignored for far too long and it’s ruining NYC.

If we do not create legislation/demand our politicians to create housing/economic opportunities that protects New Yorkers earning between $34K-$65K per year the city will lose its identity, while creating a homeless workforce. Sadly people of color are being hit the hardest and we must create a change starting with the One45 Project and the upcoming election.
