New kitchen sink plumbing
Hi plumbers

I've got a new kitchen sink that only has one bowl as opposed to two. This means the existing plumbing won't fit. It all leads to a floor drain where the existing bottom parts are glued.

How do I connect the sink drain to the existing floor drain bits? I presume I'll need an s-trap but don't really understand how to connect the trap to the final end?

Wellhead question about securing openings
An inspector said that the wellhead opening is not secured properly. I cannot communicate directly with these inspectors since they represent the pending buyers of the property.

That said, they sent a picture saying that the wellhead is exposed to contamination because there is a hole at the top for the power cable for the pump. There is also something in the New Mexico code that states that there must be an opening of at least 1/2" to allow the water depth to be tested. This looks like a standard well seal on the wellhead, so would the square bold at the top of the seal be where/how you access the well to test for depth? And regarding the hole for the power cable, is it simply a matter of plugging that hole so that it is water tight? I'm assuming everything else is correct since the well works just fine.

I've got a leak coming from under the kitchen faucet. It happens when we turn on the water and a strong leak comes from where the hot, cold and pull-out faucet hose enter.

Do i need to replace it or is there an o-ring or something similarly small that could be causing the problem?

Persistent sewer smell under kitchen sink – plumber cleaned the trap but smell is still there
Hi everyone,
I’ve been dealing with a persistent sewer/drain smell coming from the cabinet under my kitchen sink and I can’t figure out where it’s coming from.
A plumber has already been here and cleaned the trap/siphon and the accessible drain parts, but the smell is still there. There are no obvious leaks and everything seems to drain normally.
We also suspected that the smell might be coming from the opening where the large grey corrugated drain pipe enters the wall, so that area has already been sealed with expanding foam, but it made no difference.
The strange thing is that the smell seems to be concentrated inside the cabinet rather than coming directly from the sink drain, and I can’t pinpoint one specific connection that smells.
I’ve attached photos of the plumbing. I’m wondering in particular about the large grey corrugated pipe that makes a big U-shaped loop. Could stagnant water or buildup inside that pipe cause this kind of smell even after the trap has been cleaned? Should this ideally be replaced with a smooth rigid waste pipe?
Has anyone had a similar problem where the trap was clean and the wall opening was sealed, but the sewer smell persisted? What ended up being the cause?

$5000 for a new main ball shutoff valve?
And a new PRV, but who’s counting?

Had a trusted plumber over to our, new to us, 1965 home for a different issue, and he noticed that our water pressure was too high. He said we needed a new PRV, which is fine, makes sense.

The dilemma arose when I casually asked if he could also add a new main ball shutoff valve to our quote. He looked at it for a bit, took some photos, and said sure thing.

Get a call the next day, and he and his superior come back over to take a look at the valve, and they both agree that there’s no way to replace it without drilling through the foundation. That would involve digging a hole on the exterior to access it, permitting with the city, yada yada yada. Boom, $5K estimate.

In our previous home, built in the 90s, I had similar replacement done by the same company, and it was no problem at all. No digging, no permitting, and the guy was done in less than a half hour soup to nuts.

So I come to the experts. Is there no way to replace this main valve without drilling through the foundation? I added some other photos for context. There’s a separate ball valve for the irrigation system, but otherwise, it looks like pretty standard plumbing to me.

Any insight you can provide is greatly appreciated!

Questions on a hot water heater and if im being taken advantage of?
Okay so we didn't have any hot water yesterday afternoon and had to take cold showers not the end of the world. But today I get home from.work and my sister's boyfriend is a general contractor saying we had to replace the hot water heater. We have a gas heater that's commercial grade supposedly but it was installed in 2017 almost a decade ago which I understand is fairly old. But I get home from work today and he says he had to replace the entire tank cause we didn't have hot water I dont know cause I wasn't home yet if he tried to restart the pilot light or the small gas control module in the front. But he says that everyone on the house owes him $750 and there's 4 People in the house not including him so $3000 i know its something I could've done myself ive changed electric one before with my father (rip) but now with my grandmother I thinks he is taking advantage and dont know how to say anything... am I overreacting or is this something that seems legitimate

How can I fix this constant stream of water flow?
This stream of water has been running constantly. And it's continuing down the inside of the toliet bowl. I checked my work ones & they don't have this stream so I'm guessing this should not be happening. Is this an easy fix? If so - how? (or) is it best to call a plumber?
