Maxx was a German Eurodance project that found international success in the mid-1990s with the hit singles "Get-A-Way," "No More (I Can't Stand It)," and "You Can Get It." The name Maxx stood for "Maximum Xstasy."

Formed in 1993 by producer Juergen Wind, executive David Brunner, and songwriter Bruce Hammond Earlam, Maxx quickly rose to fame with the chart-topping single "Get-A-Way," featuring rapper Gary Bokoe and vocals by session singer Samira Besic (later mimed in the video by Eliz Yavuz). In 1994, British singer Linda Meek (now Elyse G Rogers) joined as the official vocalist, helping push the next hit, "No More," into the Top 10 across Europe.

Their debut album To the Maxximum followed, but despite strong European sales, it didn't match the massive success of the first singles. Later singles like "You Can Get It," "I Can Make You Feel Like," and "Move Your Body" saw declining chart positions, and due to internal disputes, the group disbanded in 1995.

In 2017, Maxx made a comeback with Elyse G Rogers performing live shows again under the Maxx name, alongside rapper Twitch, celebrating the group's 90s legacy on nostalgic Eurodance stages.

Big Trouble was a short-lived American all-female pop group formed in the late '80s by TV executive Fred Silverman, featuring Bobbie Eakes, Julia Farey, Rebecca Ryan, and Suzy Zarow. Known for their brief but memorable run, they released one self-titled album in 1987 produced by Giorgio Moroder. Their single “Crazy World” hit No. 71 on the U.S. charts, and they appeared on TV shows like Comedy Break. After disbanding, lead singer Eakes found major success on The Bold and the Beautiful, while other members pursued music and quietly stepped away from the spotlight.✨🎶

Remember the Honeyz? 🎶
This British R&B girl group—known for hits like "Finally Found", "End of the Line", and "Love of a Lifetime"—dominated the UK charts between 1998–2000. Formed in 1997, they earned five Top 10 singles and a gold-certified album Wonder No.8.

After lineup changes and multiple breakups, Célena Cherry, Heavenli Abdi, and now Candace Cherry (Célena's sister) are back together for their 25th anniversary. From touring the world to reuniting on The Big Reunion, the Honeyz have shown true staying power. 💫

Babe was a Dutch girl-pop trio active in the 1970s and 1980s, produced by Peter Koelewijn. Inspired by the group Luv’, Babe performed cheerful disco and bubblegum pop. The original members were Gemma van Eck, Rita van Rooy, and Monique Hagemeyer, though the lineup changed over time with Margot van der Ven and Marga Bult joining later.

Koelewijn produced all their music except one single, “Tick-a-thumps My Heart,” which was handled by Luv’s producer Hans van Hemert. The change in sound was poorly received, leading Koelewijn to resume production.

Despite many hits, Babe never had a Top 10 single in the Dutch charts. Their notable activities included international performances in Korea, Lebanon, Indonesia, East Germany, and Poland. The group disbanded in 1986 after their popularity declined.

Afterward, Marga Bult had a successful solo career, representing the Netherlands at Eurovision 1987 with the song “Rechtop in de wind,” finishing 5th.

William Ernest Drummond (born 1953) is a Scottish artist, musician, writer, and record producer. He co-founded the avant-garde pop group The KLF and later the K Foundation, famously burning £1 million in 1994. The KLF released several influential albums, including The White Room (1991), featuring global hits like “3 a.m. Eternal” and “Justified & Ancient.”

After a dramatic exit from the music industry in 1992, the group deleted their back catalogue but later released limited material under names like the K Foundation, One World Orchestra, and 2K. In 2017, Drummond and partner Jimmy Cauty returned as The Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, publishing a novel and reviving an art project called the "People’s Pyramid." In 2021, they began re-uploading old music to streaming services.

Drummond’s later artistic work under Penkiln Burn includes conceptual acts like distributing cakes and beds, and running projects like No Music Day and the choir The 17. He has also authored multiple books on art and music.

Some beautiful photos of a lavishly psychedelic Jimmy Page from his appearance on the Julie Felix Show, BBC TV studios, London, April 1970.
(scans from my collection)

The video footage was thought to be long lost but it was rediscovered in the BBC archives for showing at a 1992 Zeppelin convention in London. The video footage featured here is an improved version of the damaged TV performance as featured in 'Becoming Led Zeppelin'.

Jimmy performed 'White Summer/Black Mountain Side unusually on a beautifu Gibson J-200 acoustic (borrowed from Mickie Most). It was usually played electrically on a Dan Electro and it wasn't played again until 1977.

US folk singer Julie Felix was a friend of John Paul Jones and he travelled with her by helicopter to the Bath Festival in June 1970. Jonesy also made a guest appearance on her 1972 album Clotho's Web

The pictures taken at show were the last non-beard shots before he started his 'bearded' phase, which lasted nearly two years, from May 1970 to Febuary 1972

The KLF, also known as the Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, the JAMs, and the Timelords, is a British electronic band formed in the late 1980s by Bill Drummond and Jimmy Cauty. They first released sample-heavy, hip hop-influenced music as the JAMs and gained major success as the Timelords with the UK No. 1 hit "Doctorin' the Tardis." Under the KLF name, they pioneered the genres of stadium house and ambient house, becoming the world's top-selling singles act in 1991.

Heavily influenced by The Illuminatus! Trilogy, the duo embraced anarchic and provocative behavior—defacing ads, placing cryptic messages in the press, and staging chaotic performances. In 1992, they famously exited the music industry by deleting their catalog and later formed the K Foundation, staging controversial art projects, including burning £1 million.

Since then, they’ve sporadically released new material under various names and resurfaced in 2017 with a novel and a public art project. In 2021, they began re-releasing their music catalog on streaming platforms.
