A way better plan than the plot of Armageddon, sorry Bruce Willis.

In 2022, our first planetary defense test mission, the Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART), will attempt to change the motion of a small moonlet, Dimorphos, that poses no threat to Earth. This demonstration, led by the JHU Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), will test a new asteroid deflection technology: www.nasa.gov/dart

Congrats to everyone at NASA—thanks for representing the best of us.

Watch an epic journey unfold on Thursday, Feb. 18 as NASA's Perseverance Mars Rover lands. To reach the surface of the Red Planet, the rover has to survive the harrowing final phase known as Entry, Descent, and Landing.

Only then can the rover – the biggest, heaviest, cleanest, and most sophisticated six-wheeled robot ever launched into space – search Jezero Crater for signs of ancient life and collect samples that will eventually be returned to Earth.

Tune in to a live video feed of key landing activities and commentary from Mission Control at our NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Over a decade ago, we got to meet Ricky Powell during a project. He invited us into his home, gave us all free merch, and caught a ride with the production van. Legendary photographer, and a good dude. His work is immortal. #photography #rickypowell #nyc #nycphotographer #creator #production #streetphotography
