Cody Marsh, 44, from Fort Myers, Florida, ran an unlicensed tattoo parlor out of a 1998 Winnebago for 14 months. Every Friday, he parked outside a different bar, offering appointments to a long waitlist of clients.
He converted the Winnebago into a professional tattoo studio with a chair, sterilization station, LED lighting, and a curated playlist. A sign on the door read: “Ink By Cody — Walk-Ins Welcome, Appointments Preferred, Location Drops Every Thursday at 6 PM.”
Cody served 340 clients with zero complaints. He managed a 214-person waitlist, texting his location each week. His clients gave him 4.9-star reviews across platforms, praising his professionalism and convenience. Health inspectors called his setup more organized than many licensed tattoo studios.
When inspectors arrived, a client was mid-session. Cody calmly paused and presented a folder with his portfolio, release forms, and a business plan titled “Phase Two: Going Legitimate.” The Winnebago was impounded, marking the end of Cody’s mobile tattoo operation.
