I used to ask for flowers. Now, I'm asking for nothing.

There was a time I thought love just needed better instructions. If I explained clearly enough, reminded gently enough, asked nicely enough, surely he'd understand what I needed. So I asked. And asked again. And turned wanting flowers into a whole negotiation, like affection was something I had to lobby for.

I didn't realize how exhausting that was until I stopped. Stopped asking, stopped explaining, stopped turning basic effort into something I had to request in three different ways before it maybe happened. Real love was never supposed to require a campaign.

Now I'm asking for nothing, because I finally understand that the right person won't need reminders to show up for me. He won't need me to negotiate my way into being prioritized. He'll just do it, without me having to translate my needs into a language he refuses to learn.

I'm not asking for less because I want less. I'm asking for nothing because I finally know what enough looks like, and it doesn't come with begging attached. The right love meets you there on its own. Anything short of that was never love I needed to keep asking for.

(Read that again.)

Things that make her lose interest: lying, poor communication, ignoring her, going hours without texting, being too busy for her, offering no reassurance, making her feel like a second option, showing no effort.

None of these are dramatic. That's the part people miss. She doesn't fall out of love because of one big betrayal most of the time. She falls out of love in the silence between texts. In the "sorry, been busy" that keeps happening. In the reassurance she has to ask for instead of just receiving.

A woman doesn't need constant attention. She needs consistency. She needs to not feel like she's competing with his phone, his friends, his mood, or his laziness for basic communication. She needs to stop wondering if she's a priority or just an option he checks in on when it's convenient.

Interest doesn't disappear overnight. It leaks out slowly, through every unanswered text and every excuse dressed up as being busy, until one day she's just... not waiting anymore.

By the time she stops asking questions, she already has her answer.
