According to Finnish broadcaster Yle, the facility in Novaya Vilga, Karelia, could eventually accommodate between 4,000 and 6,000 troops and include more than 50 military and residential buildings.

The development comes as Moscow continues to expand military infrastructure along its border with NATO, even while the conflict in Ukraine continues to consume significant manpower and resources.
