Calling all graphic designers and experts on our catalog!

We are celebrating our 42nd anniversary!
We are calling the campaign Deuce, in honor of Times Square and 42nd Street.

We want someone to design a logo, maybe a two of spades or clubs, to post in conjunction with the existing logos pictured above. The winner will receive $35.

We also want suggestions on what vinyl lovers and DJs are looking for in reissues! We know the common stuff like the 900 Number and Impeach The President. We are looking more for DJ discoveries like Buss This by Ghetto Philharmonic.

We were saddened by the loss of James Rivers. The brilliant New Orleans multi-instrumentalist. While he put out a ton of great releases, all of which Tuff City would’ve loved to reissue, our catalog of his is limited to two tracks, but they are exemplary of his jazzy soulful playing: "I Hear Ya" and "Center Cut”.

Tuff City mourns the loss of Sparky D, an artist who we never slept on. She rocked our world with her Roxanne battles with Roxanne Shante, and her recordings from that era are well represented in our catalog, on both The Ol’ Skool Flava of NIA and Tuff City Salutes Hip Hop 50: The Female MC’s. RIP pioneer.

Happy to report that Poet dropped by our office. He was one half of PHD, which was the groundbreaking gangsta rap group out of Queensbridge that went on to influence the likes of Mobb Deep. Tuff City will be reissuing some of his later recordings with Screwball.
