With great sadness, the Jane Goodall Institute confirmed this morning the passing of the organization’s founder, Dr. Jane Goodall, age 91 who died peacefully in her sleep while in Los Angeles, CA for her speaking tour in the United States.

Dr. Goodall’s life and work not only made an indelible mark on our understanding of chimpanzees and other species, but also of humankind and the environments we all share. She inspired curiosity, hope and compassion in countless people around the world, and paved the way for many others — particularly young people who gave her hope for the future.

In 1960 Dr. Goodall established the longest running wild chimpanzee study in Gombe National Park, Tanzania which continues to this day. She pioneered and sustained the Jane Goodall Institute’s community-centered conservation initiatives across the chimpanzee range for over four decades. Her legacy includes the creation of JGI’s international environmental and humanitarian youth program Roots & Shoots, which is actively driving change in 75 countries and counting around the world.

Following the formula "Don't Thai to me!"....
The four-month Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand tried to mislead and elaborate at the United Nations General Assembly forum, stating, "We know who the real victims are: Thai soldiers who lost their legs to landmines, children whose schools were destroyed by artillery, and innocent civilians who were attacked by Cambodian rockets."

1. Who initiated the shooting that caused one Cambodian soldier to sacrifice his life in the Mom Bei area?

2. Who unilaterally closed the border?

3. Who took barbed wire and fenced off Ta Moan Thom Temple?

4. Who launched the attack on Cambodian troops, leading to the five-night, five-day battle?

5. Who violated the Franco-Siamese Treaties and the 2000 MOU?

6. Who hesitated and didn't want a third country to intervene in resolving the issue?

7. Who violated the ceasefire by causing multiple clear provocations, such as arresting Cambodian troops first thing in the morning after the ceasefire? Expanding the conflict zone? Moving forces until they stepped on mines left over from the past?

8. Who flagrantly violated international principles by using force to deploy barbed wire and treat it as a border line?

9. If Thailand is truly right! If Thailand is truly the victim! Why is Thailand afraid of intervention from the international community? If Thailand has been right from the beginning, why should Thailand fear the International Court of Justice?

In summary, it's not just Cambodians and Thailand's neighboring countries! The whole world knows Thailand's 'character' and is thoroughly fed up with it!
