She had seven demons cast out of her. πŸ™

She was not a disciple by title.
She was not in the inner circle of twelve.
She had a past that would have
disqualified her in most people's eyes.

And yet.

She was the first human being
to see Jesus after the resurrection.

The first person the risen Lord
appeared to and spoke to
was a woman with a complicated past
who refused to leave His tomb.

While the disciples had gone home
she stayed.
Weeping. Searching. Refusing to leave.

And Jesus said her name.
Just her name.
Mary.

And she knew.

God always reveals Himself
to those who refuse to walk away.

Tax collectors were the most hated people
in first century Israel. πŸ™

They worked for Rome.
They overcharged their own people.
They kept the extra for themselves.

And Jesus walked past Matthew's booth
looked directly at him
and said two words β€”

Follow me.

And Matthew got up.
Left his booth.
Left his money.
Left his security.

And followed someone he had just met.

The first thing Matthew did
was throw a party
and invite all his tax collector friends
so they could meet Jesus too.

The most despised man
became the most enthusiastic inviter.

Grace does that to people.
It makes you want everyone else
to have what you just found.

She was old. πŸ™
Well past the age of childbearing.
Barren her entire life.

And an angel appeared
to her husband Zechariah
and said β€”
Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son.

Zechariah did not believe it.
And he was struck mute
until the baby was born.

But Elizabeth believed.

When Mary came to visit
pregnant with Jesus
Elizabeth's baby leaped in her womb.

John the Baptist recognized Jesus
before either of them
had spoken a single word.

Before birth.
Before ministry.
Before the cross.

He already knew.

God places recognition of His Son
even in the unborn.

Six verses. πŸ™

The most memorized passage
in all of human history.

Written by a shepherd
who became a king.
Who knew what it meant
to lead sheep
and what it meant to be led.

The Lord is my shepherd β€”
I shall not want.

Not I might not want.
Not I hope not to want.

I SHALL NOT WANT.

A declaration.
A confidence.
A settled certainty
that the one leading you
will never let you lack
what you truly need.

When was the last time
you read all six verses slowly
and let every line land?

A lawyer asked Jesus to trap Him. πŸ™

Which is the greatest commandment
in the entire Law?

And Jesus answered without hesitation β€”

Love the Lord your God
with all your heart
all your soul
and all your mind.

This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it β€”
Love your neighbor as yourself.

All the Law and the Prophets
hang on these two commandments.

Every rule in the Bible.
Every commandment.
Every instruction.

Hangs on two things.
Love God.
Love people.

Not religion.
Not rituals.
Not rules.

Love.

The tribe of Judah. πŸ™

Jacob had 12 sons.
12 tribes of Israel.

And when Jacob was dying
he gathered them all together
and spoke a prophecy
over each one.

To Judah he said β€”
The scepter will not depart from Judah
until he to whom it belongs shall come.

That prophecy was spoken
over 1700 years
before Jesus was born.

And when Jesus came
He came through the tribe of Judah.
From the line of David.
From the family of Jesse.

Every detail planned.
Every prophecy fulfilled.
Every bloodline carefully preserved
across thousands of years.

That is not coincidence.
That is God.

James 5:17 says something
that should stop you completely. πŸ™

Elijah was a human being
just like us.

Just like you.
Just like me.

Not a superhero.
Not a super spiritual being.
A human.

And he prayed earnestly
that it would not rain.

And it did not rain
for three and a half years.

Then he prayed again.
And the rain came.

The same access Elijah had
to the God who controls weather
is the access you have
when you pray.

You are praying to the same God.
With the same access.
Through the same Spirit.

Pray like Elijah prayed.

He was the last apostle standing. πŸ™

While all the others
had been martyred
John was exiled to the island of Patmos.

Alone.
Old.
Cut off from everyone he loved.

And on that island
in that isolation
he received the most
dramatic vision in all of Scripture.

The entire future of creation.
The throne room of heaven.
The seven churches.
The four horsemen.
The final battle.
The new Jerusalem.

God did not send the vision
to someone on a throne.

He sent it to an old man
on a remote island
who had lost everything.

Your isolation is not abandonment.
It is often your most
profound appointment.

In the middle of a royal feast. πŸ™
1000 nobles.
Wine flowing.
Music playing.
Using the sacred gold vessels
stolen from God's temple as cups.

And suddenly a human hand appeared.
Writing on the plaster wall.
The king's face went pale.
His knees knocked together.
His legs gave way beneath him.

No one could read it.
No one could interpret it.
Until Daniel was brought in.

The message β€”
You have been weighed.
Found wanting.
Your kingdom is finished.

That very night
Belshazzar was killed.

God still weighs kingdoms.
He still weighs hearts.
What does He find
when He weighs yours?
