"Please, I beg of you. I don't have anybody, and this house is my only treasured memory," old Joe begged Elliot. "I have nowhere to go. Please don't make me homeless."

But Elliot turned a deaf ear to the poor old man's pleas. "Look here, old man. I'm tearing this thing down in two weeks. ALL YOU'VE GOT TO DO IS TO PACK YOUR STUFF!" he said, driving past the dusty house in ruins.

Standing at my grandpa's funeral, I thought about him while staring at his grave. He always loved seeing me smile, and I wanted to smile in his memory, but I just couldn't.

My older siblings and cousins were there too, looking all serious and gloomyโ€”probably because they found out Grandpa didn't leave them any inheritance.

It started like any other Tuesday morning. I was in a rush at the grocery store. As I pushed my cart, I noticed a man struggling with a toddler in the cereal aisle.
